Those who have delivered certification workshops—particularly for aspiring energy managers—understand how challenging it is to keep sessions lively, engaging, and truly rewarding for participants.
Covering an extensive range of topics over five intensive days demands far more than simply delivering slide presentations. It calls for a dynamic approach that sustains energy, fosters interaction, and ensures that participants leave not only informed but inspired.
Rather than “ploughing through” one topic after another, training providers must create an exceptional learning journey—meticulously designed and delivered for maximum impact. This means building a compelling case for every concept, connecting systems thinking to real-world environmental challenges, offering tailored support, tracking progress, and reviewing performance throughout.
In short, delivering such a program is about providing a comprehensive, end-to-end learning experience backed by careful preparation, thoughtful structuring, and purposeful engagement.
From over three decades of delivering energy sustainability training, we have compiled survey insights on what participants value most.
Here are the Top Five Elements participants look for in an energy sustainability–related training program.
We had the privilege to put insights into implementation over the last two weeks in a back to back REM Type 1 workshops we conducted as an RTI-REM, at Cyberview Resort (28 July – 1 August 2025) & Perdana at KLCC ( 4 – 8 August 2025).
It was rewarding to see energy professionals who attended our REM workshop found the sessions both engaging and valuable.
Feedbacks from attendees reflected the value and impact they gained from the training:
“The notes provided are excellent, and offer a solid foundation for reviewing both the basics and underlying theories”
“This training is very useful for those who are involved in the energy sector. It also gives ideas and suggestions to improve our facilities’ efficiency, thus reducing operational costs.”
“I like this session. The trainer is engaging and very informative on the subject of energy efficiency.”
“The 5-day Registered Energy Manager course is essential for anyone looking to build a strong foundation as an energy management professional. My firm understanding of the EECA 2024, a direct result of this course, is the most valuable knowledge I have gained. This has given me the confidence to navigate the new regulations and perform my duties with a higher degree of competence. The instructors were exceptionally knowledgeable and created a highly interactive learning environment. This course is a must-attend.”
“OPTIMISE is very good, really recommend to attend their courses.”
