Energy & Emission Management for All – E2MA is a distinctive ESG capacity-building programme curated and delivered by OPTIMISE. Over the past five years, it has served numerous national and multinational organisations.

On Thursday, June 19, 2025, we conducted one of our engagement sessions with PUMA Energy, a Swiss multinational oil company operating in the mid and downstream sectors. PUMA’s global presence spans approximately 40 countries across five continents, encompassing the supply, storage, refining, distribution, and retail of various petroleum products.

E2MA offers four compelling imperatives designed to inspire and inclusively empower employees at all levels to become agents of change in driving net-zero ambitions. It applies an integrated approach to energy management aligned with the Energy Efficiency and Conservation Act (EECA) 2024, while concurrently addressing value chain GHG emissions and product carbon footprints across five key action phases: Measure – Target – Assess – Mitigate – Extend.

During implementation, E2MA adopts the 5R hierarchy of priorities to guide organisations in preparing for Malaysia’s anticipated carbon tax policy in 2026—positioning them to go beyond EECA compliance in their journey toward net-zero emissions (NZE).
