Optimal Systems Engineering Sdn Bhd proudly announces the successful completion of the 5-Days Registered Energy Manager (REM) Type 2 Workshop and the 3-Days Industrial Thermal Energy Audit & Analysis (ITEA) Workshop, held on 6–10 April 2026 and 7–9 April 2026 respectively at Cyberview Resort & Spa, Cyberjaya. Conducted concurrently, these two flagship programmes were carefully designed to provide participants with a comprehensive and practical learning experience by integrating regulatory compliance, advanced energy management strategies, and technical auditing capabilities. This combined approach enabled participants to develop both the managerial and technical competencies required to support energy efficiency initiatives in line with Malaysia’s Energy Efficiency and Conservation Act (EECA).
The workshops attracted participants from a wide range of sectors, reflecting the growing importance of energy efficiency and sustainability across industries. These sectors included engineering and consultancy, oil and gas, cement and building materials, electronics and semiconductor manufacturing, utilities and water services, healthcare, industrial chemicals, power systems, and sustainable solutions. The diversity of participants created a dynamic platform for cross-sector learning, professional exchange, and networking among organisations committed to strengthening their energy management practices.
The REM Type 2 Workshop focused on advanced energy governance, energy-saving opportunities, and thermal system management for facilities with high levels of energy consumption. Participants were exposed to critical areas such as legislative requirements, energy performance indicators, structured energy management practices, and the role of thermal systems in improving operational efficiency. These learning outcomes are essential for professionals seeking to strengthen their readiness for REM Type 2 certification and to lead compliance-driven energy management initiatives within their organisations.
Running alongside the REM Type 2 programme, the ITEA Workshop provided participants with valuable technical exposure in conducting systematic thermal energy audits for industrial applications. The programme emphasised practical approaches to identifying inefficiencies and improvement opportunities in boilers, steam systems, heat recovery applications, cogeneration, and other thermal processes. Through this workshop, participants enhanced their understanding of benchmarking, process evaluation, and thermal optimisation techniques that can contribute directly to cost savings, improved system performance, and reduced emissions.
Participant feedback underscored the strong relevance and quality of the programmes. Among the comments received were:
“Well knowledge with great experience trainer and great training venue. Most of the content is related to the company and may impact on better sustainability value in terms of energy efficiency”
“The training content and delivery by lecturer are very practical and they can related to our working situation”
“Good delivery from zero to hero!”
These testimonials reflect the practical value of the training and its effectiveness in addressing real-world industry needs.

These encouraging responses reflect the effectiveness of the workshops in delivering industry-relevant knowledge in a manner that is practical, engaging, and immediately applicable in the workplace. Participants benefited not only from the technical depth of the content, but also from the opportunity to connect the training directly to real operational challenges and sustainability priorities within their respective sectors.
By combining REM Type 2 and ITEA into a coordinated training experience, Optimal Systems Engineering once again demonstrated its commitment to developing capable professionals who can lead energy efficiency improvements, support regulatory compliance, and drive sustainability performance in Malaysian industry. The successful completion of these workshops marks another important milestone in building national capacity for effective energy management and industrial energy optimisation.
Building on this momentum, Optimal Systems Engineering will next be conducting the Registered Energy Manager (REM) – Type 1 Workshop at Hyatt Place Johor Bahru from 20 to 24 April 2026. This upcoming programme offers an excellent opportunity for professionals and organisations seeking to strengthen their foundation in energy management, enhance regulatory readiness, and build the competencies required to support effective energy efficiency implementation. Participants are encouraged to register early and be part of another impactful learning experience designed to advance industry capability and sustainability performance.
