Malaysia’s energy transition is gaining momentum, driven by stronger industry collaboration, technical expertise and a growing commitment to sustainable development.
Throughout September and October 2026, Optimal Systems Engineering Sdn. Bhd. (OPTIMISE) actively contributed to this progress through strategic industry engagements, technical collaborations and professional capacity-building initiatives spanning energy efficiency, carbon management and clean energy development.
As the Energy Efficiency and Conservation Act (EECA) 2024 reshapes Malaysia’s energy management landscape, OPTIMISE continues to bridge the gap between regulatory requirements and practical implementation, empowering industries with the knowledge, expertise and solutions needed to accelerate their sustainability journey.
Key highlights of OPTIMISE’s September–October 2026 engagements include:
- Online Workshop on Establishing an Energy Management System (EnMS): Bridging ISO 50001 and EECA 2024 (14–15 September 2026). Guided industry practitioners through systematic procedures for establishing an effective Energy Management System (EnMS), aligned with ISO 50001 and EECA 2024 regulatory requirements to enhance organisational readiness and drive continuous energy performance improvement.
- Registered Energy Manager (REM) Type 1 Workshop in Johor Bahru (21–25 September 2026): Equipped aspiring energy managers with essential competencies to meet EECA 2024 requirements and drive organisational energy efficiency.
- Data Centre Energy Efficiency Guidelines Working Group Meeting (23 September 2026): Two OPTIMISE representatives contributed technical and industry expertise to developing energy efficiency assessment criteria and rating guidelines for Malaysia’s data centres under EECA 2024.
- TNB Energy Services (TNBES) In-House Coaching Workshop on Thermal Energy Audit for Electrical Audit Specialists (29–30 September 2026): Strengthened the technical competencies of electrical audit specialists in thermal energy auditing, equipping participants with practical knowledge and skills to support their Registered Energy Auditor (REA) certification applications and enhance their capabilities in conducting comprehensive energy audits.
- Sarawak Sustainable Hydrogen Economy Project – Second Focus Group Discussion (FGD 2) and Knowledge Transfer Programme (9 October 2026 at Raia Hotel and Convention Centre, Kuching). Engaged key stakeholders from regulatory authorities and regulated entities in Sarawak to gather insights, exchange knowledge and build consensus to inform strategic planning for a sustainable hydrogen economy and clean energy transition in Sarawak.
- Kaneka Integrated Energy, GHG, Reporting, Audit and Management System (INTEGRAMS) Capacity Building Workshop (12 October 2026): Supported Kaneka Malaysia in strengthening organisational capabilities in integrated energy and greenhouse gas management, reporting and auditing, equipping participants with practical knowledge and tools to improve data management, support carbon accounting and advance systematic sustainability performance monitoring.
Across these engagements, one message remains clear: sustainable industrial transformation requires more than regulatory compliance. It demands technical expertise, reliable data, continuous innovation and strong collaboration to turn sustainability commitments into measurable results.
By integrating energy efficiency, carbon management, clean energy development and professional capacity building, OPTIMISE continues to bridge the gap between sustainability ambitions and practical industry solutions.
