October 2025 has been another impactful month for Optimal Systems Engineering Sdn Bhd, marked by a series of high-impact in-house and public training, capacity-building and coaching initiatives underscoring our commitment to advancing Malaysia’s energy transition. 

Through Registered Energy Manager (REM) workshopstechnical capacity-building programs, and in-house compliance trainings, we continue to empower industry professionals and organizations to align with the Energy Efficiency and Conservation Act (EECA 2024).

Building a Brighter Energy Future with TNB ILSAS 

29 September – 3 October 2025 | TNB ILSAS, Bangi 

The month commenced with a 5-day Registered Energy Manager (REM) Type 1 workshop for Tenaga Nasional Berhad (TNB), conducted in collaboration with TNB Integrated Learning Solution (TNB ILSAS). 

The program was designed to equip energy professionals managing facilities with annual consumption between 21,600 GJ and 50,000 GJ with the essential knowledge and skills to comply with EECA 2024. Participants gained in-depth understanding of energy governance, regulatory frameworks, energy audits, and financial analysis for energy projects.

Advancing Industrial Energy Management Excellence 

6 – 10 October 2025 (REM Type 2) and 7 – 9 October 2025 (ITEA) | Cyberview Resort & Spa, Cyberjaya 

The following week featured two complementary programs: 

    • 5-day REM Type 2 workshop, designed for professionals managing facilities with energy consumption above 50,000 GJ/year, focused on advanced thermal energy systems, waste heat recovery, performance indicators, and EECA compliance. 
    • 3-day Industrial Thermal Energy Audit and Analysis (ITEA) program, which provided participants with systematic techniques to benchmark, analyse, and improve thermal energy efficiency across industrial processes and utility systems. 

Both programs attracted professionals from various industries, reinforcing the growing emphasis on thermal energy efficiency and regulatory readiness in Malaysia’s industrial landscape.

Elevating EECA Compliance Capabilities for PETRONAS 

13 – 15 October 2025 | Mercure Living, Putrajaya 

In collaboration with INSTEP, we conducted an In-House EECA Capacity Building Program for PETRONAS, aimed at strengthening organizational readiness for EECA compliance. 

This tailored program reflects our commitment to supporting Malaysia’s leading energy companies through practical, high-impact capacity-building initiatives that align with national energy efficiency goals.

Upcoming: REM Type 1 Workshop (PETRONAS Batch 2) 

27 – 31 October 2025 | Cyberview Resort & Spa, Cyberjaya 

To close the month, we are preparing to conduct the second batch of our REM Type 1 workshop, following the successful first batch for PETRONAS in August 2025. This strong response demonstrates the increasing industry demand for certified energy managers ahead of EECA enforcement.
