The Energy Efficiency and Conservation Act (EECA) 2024 introduces new obligations for businesses. OPTIMISE offers practical, industry-ready training to help you:

- - - Become a REM and/or a Registered Energy Auditor (REA)
    - Renew your REM certification
    - Establish an Energy Management System (EnMS) for your organisation

Need to Understand EECA 2024?

OPTIMISE offers EECA 2024 awareness courses to help energy consumers and building managers learn the key requirements, regulations, and guidelines issued by the Energy Commission. The courses are designed for facility managers, engineers, and sustainability officers to ensure compliance with the EECA 2024.

Become a Registered Energy Manager (REM)

We offer REM training for:

- - - REM Type 1: For facilities using 21,600–50,000 GJ/year
    - REM Type 2: For facilities using 50,000 GJ/year or more

To attend the REM Type 2 course, you must first complete REM Type 1 training. Both course certificates are valid for five years.

To register as a REM Type 2 with the Energy Commission, you must be a REM Type 1 for at least one year. If you plan to serve as an external REM for other companies, you must be certified as REM Type 2.

REM Renewal & CDP Training

REMs must earn at least 16 CDP points every year to renew their certification. OPTIMISE offers both Mandatory and Optional CDP courses.

- - - Mandatory CDP Courses:
      Complete 80 CDP hours for REM Type 1 and another 80 CDP hours for REM Type 2 to be exempted from annual CDP training. Refer to Guide on Registration of Training Institution – Appendix CC for the full course list.
    - Optional CDP Courses:
      Help you meet annual CDP requirements, but do not count toward the 80-hour exemption.

Accumulate CDP points to renew practising REM license for several years. For example, accumulate 32 CDP points to renew for two years.
